How to add Baselane as a payout method on booking sites

  • Updated

Get your booking income deposited directly into Baselane by adding a Baselane checking account as the payout method on booking sites like Airbnb and Vrbo.

A payout method is the account a booking site uses to send you your earnings. Depending on the payout method and the platform, it can take 3–5 business days to arrive.

Setting your Baselane checking account as your payout method means your booking income is deposited next business day.

In this article, we will cover

Add Baselane as a payout method to receive next-day payouts

  2. Select the entity banking account and then the checking account you want to receive payouts.

Instructions for adding payment methods for short-term rental booking sites

Follow each platform's instructions to add or update your payout bank account:

Deposit payouts into dedicated listing accounts

Some platforms, like Airbnb, allow multiple payout methods. If you have more than one Airbnb listing, you can send each listing's payouts to its own Baselane checking account. You can also split one listing's payout by percentage, for example, 80% to a property operating account and 20% to a reserve account.

Open a Baselane checking account for each property and set your payouts to deposit directly into specific accounts to easily track your booking income.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a separate Baselane account for each listing?

No, but it's recommended. Using a separate checking account for each listing keeps statements, income, and expenses organized and makes tax time easier. You can open multiple Baselane checking accounts with no monthly maintenance fees or minimum balances.

Can I send payouts from different listings to different Baselane accounts?

On many booking sites, yes. Airbnb, for example, lets you add multiple payout methods and assign each one to specific listings. See how to split your Airbnb payouts above. Check your booking site's payout settings for this option.

How long until my first payout arrives in Baselane?

With Baselane, you will receive payouts from Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking.com, and Expedia the next business day. Though, for the first payout, some platforms verify a new bank account before sending payouts, and they may hold the first payout for a few days.

Where do I find my Baselane routing and account numbers?

Log in to Baselane and go to your accounts. Select your checking account, and open the account details. See find your Baselane account and routing numbers above. Alternatively, download your bank verification letter.

The booking site can't verify my Baselane account. What should I do?

Double-check that the routing and account numbers are entered correctly, that the account type is set to Checking, and that the account holder name matches your Baselane banking account. If you're still having trouble, contact the booking site's support team.

Will my payouts be categorized automatically in Baselane?

Transactions in your Baselane account appear in the Transactions tab, where you can categorize them and assign them to a property. With Baselane Smart, you can also set up advanced bookkeeping rules or use our AI auto-tag assistant so recurring payouts from the same booking site are categorized automatically.

Payouts are net of platform fees. How do I track the fees?

Most booking sites deposit your earnings after deducting host service fees and, in some cases, taxes. To track gross income and fees separately, download your earnings or transaction report from the booking site and record the fees as an expense in Baselane.

If I switch my payout method to Baselane, what happens to upcoming payouts?

Payouts already scheduled may still go to your previous bank account. The change usually applies to future payouts only. Keep your old account open until all pending payouts have arrived.
