Ways to Send Checks with Baselane
Baselane Banking supports three methods of issuing checks:
1. Mail a Check Through Baselane
Baselane prints and mails the check to your vendor or recipient.
Cost: $2 per mailed check.
No physical checkbook required.
2. Order a Baselane Checkbook
You can order a Baselane-branded checkbook delivered to your address.
Cost: $15 per checkbook
Includes 80 checks
3. Use a Third-Party Checkbook
You may purchase checkbooks from third-party providers (e.g., Costco, Walmart, Office Depot).
Note: Many third-party check formats fail when processed. Baselane strongly recommends using either Baselane-mailed checks or the official Baselane checkbook.
How to Mail a Check Through Baselane
You can mail a check directly from your Baselane account without needing a physical checkbook.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Go to the Baselane Banking or Transfers & Payments tab.
Select Move Money.
Choose Send Money:

Select an existing recipient, or click Add Recipient and enter the required information:
Name (required).
Email (optional).
Recipient Type: Individual or Business.
Payment Method: select Mail a Check from the dropdown.

Enter the check details.

Check Recipient Name – The name that will appear on the check.
Field Limit: The “Recipient Name” field supports a maximum of 40 characters.
Street Address – The mailing address where the check will be delivered.

After entering the recipient information, select Save and continue. You will need to enter the payment details:
Amount – The dollar amount you want to send.
Send from – Select the Baselane banking account from which the funds will be withdrawn once the check is deposited by the recipient.
Payment Type – Choose whether this is a one-time payment or a recurring scheduled payment.
Note: The payment amount is withdrawn from your account only when the recipient deposits the check. The $2 mailing fee is deducted immediately.

(Optional) Add a:
Memo (printed on the check).
Bookkeeping category, notes.
Review all details and click Save and continue
Important Information About Mailed Checks

Payment amounts must fall within your account tier limits:
Standard Checking: $10,000/day, $50,000/month
High Tier (by request): $50,000/day, $200,000/month
If you need to send a check that exceeds your tier limits, please contact our Support team for assistance.
Checks submitted before 12 PM ET are processed the same day.
Checks submitted after 12 PM ET, on weekends, or on bank holidays are processed the next business day.
Delivery time is typically 7–10 business days, and checks are mailed via USPS. Tracking is not available.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I cancel a check after it has been sent?
Checks can be cancelled only while they are in Pending status prior to the 12 PM ET cutoff. Once a check moves to production it cannot be cancelled but we can put a stop payment. To request cancellation, please contact our Support team
Can I schedule a check for a future date?
Yes. Checks can be scheduled for future delivery dates either by selecting the one-time payment or scheduling a recurring payment.
How can I track the status of a mailed check?
You can track mailed checks under Transfers & Payments → Activity:
Statuses include:
Processing – Check is being prepared to be created and sent.
Delivered – Check reached the recipient’s mailbox.
Processed – Check has been deposited by the recipient.
When is the money withdrawn from my account?
Funds are withdrawn once the recipient deposits the check. The $2 mailing fee is charged immediately.
Do mailed checks expire?
Yes. Checks expire 180 days after issuance.
What if the recipient claims they never received the check?
Please contact our Support team, and we can investigate further and put a stop payment on the check.
What happens if the check is returned?
If a check is returned, please contact our Support team. We will review the return, confirm the reason, and advise you on the next steps.
Can I order a third-party checkbook?
Yes, third-party checkbooks are supported, though compatibility may vary depending on the provider.
