Split Rent Payments allow eligible tenants to divide their monthly rent into multiple installments while the landlord still receives the full rent. This feature is powered by Baselane’s partner, Livble, which extends a line of credit to approved tenants.

Eligibility and Requirements
To use Split Rent Payments, tenants must complete a one-time credit and financial assessment. Requirements include:
Full name
Date of birth
Social Security Number (SSN)
Phone number
Email
External bank account connected securely via Plaid
Important notes:
Your bank must be supported by Plaid. If Plaid cannot connect to your bank, split payments will not be available.
Approval is not guaranteed and depends on your credit and financial profile.
Split rent payments must be paid via ACH; credit and debit cards are not accepted.
Tenants can split up to 4 payments per rent invoice.
A $30–$40 fee applies per rent invoice when using Split Payments.
Split payments are optional, and you can choose each month whether to pay in full or split your rent.
How to Split Rent in the Tenant Portal
Log in to your Tenant Portal:
Select the key icon in the left-hand menu to view your rent invoices.
Locate your current rent invoice and select Pay.

Choose your payment method:
Pay full amount using ACH or debit/credit card.
Split payments using installments via Livble.
The Split payments option is only available for current or upcoming rent invoices. Overdue invoices will display only the Pay full amount option.
If choosing Split payments, select the number of installments (2-4) and click Split my rent.

Complete the one-time assessment by providing the following:
Full name, email, date of birth, SSN.
Phone number.
Household details (who you live with).
Agreement to terms.
Link external bank accounts via Plaid.
Link all relevant bank accounts, especially those where your paycheck is deposited.
Ensure data-sharing permissions remain enabled for Livble.
Important: You have one attempt to complete the application.
Livble will review your application and provide an approval or denial within one minute.

If approved, choose your installment schedule:
Select 2, 3, or 4 payments.
Adjust the dates using the drag tool.
Select Split my rent

Review and confirm your installment plan:
Your landlord receives the full rent amount upfront.
Your installments will be paid automatically based on the schedule you selected.

Can I choose split payments every month?
Yes. You can decide each month whether to pay in full or split your rent.
What if my bank is not supported by Plaid?
You will not be able to use Split Rent Payments. You can still pay in full using ACH or debit/credit card for an additional fee.
Will my landlord know I used split payments?
No. Your landlord only sees that the rent was paid in full.
Will my rent still be reported if I use Split Payments and Rent Reporting?
Yes, but only one method applies per invoice.
When using Split Payments, Livble reports the payment.

When paying in full and enrolled in Baselane Rent Reporting, Baselane reports the payment.
If you cancel Baselane Rent Reporting, you will not be able to re-enroll later.
Can Split Payments help build credit?
Yes. Split payments function as loan installments, and on-time payments can improve your credit over time.
