Before you update a tenant’s profile
Whether a tenant’s email address can be updated depends on whether the tenant has completed account setup.
Pending tenants (invite not yet accepted): Landlords can update the tenant’s email directly.
Active tenants (account already set up): Email updates require assistance from Baselane's Support team and are only possible if specific conditions are met.
Where to update a tenant’s profile
Log in to your Baselane account and navigate to the Tenants page.
Locate the tenant you’d like to update.
Select the three vertical dots in the top-right corner of the tenant’s profile.
Click Edit Details to view and update available fields.
Updating email addresses for pending tenants
For pending tenants who have not yet accepted their invite, landlords can update the following details directly:
Name
Email address
Phone number
Resend the tenant invitation
Changes will apply immediately and update the tenant’s invitation.
Updating email addresses for active tenants
For active tenants who have already completed account setup, landlords cannot update the email address directly from their dashboard.
If an email update is needed, either the landlord or the tenant must contact Baselane Support. Email updates can only be completed on the backend if all of the following conditions are met:
The tenant created a manual password (did not sign up using Google SSO).
The tenant is not enrolled in Rent Reporting.
If any of these conditions are not met, the tenant’s email address cannot be changed.

Can my tenant request the email update directly?
Yes. Either the landlord or the tenant can contact our Support team to request an email update, provided the eligibility requirements are met.

If a tenant signed up using Google SSO, their email address cannot be updated.
