What are virtual cards and how are they different from physical debit cards? What are the spending limits?

Virtual cards work exactly like your physical debit card—they just live on your Baselane Banking platform instead of in your physical wallet. Virtual cards are stored on Baselane and can be used to pay online or contactless on your phone via Apple Pay or Google Pay. Virtual Cards have a unique card number, expiry date, and CVV, which can be accessed on the Baselane platform.

When you open a Baselane Banking account, you are automatically issued one physical Visa debit card that is mailed to the address provided in your banking application. At any point, you can open additional virtual debit cards for additional Checking accounts that have their own card numbers, spending limits, and categorization rules. Each of these cards is entirely independent: if you lock (or close) one card, the remaining cards will remain functional until locked or closed.
