Why Am I Having Issues Connecting Multiple Chase Logins to Baselane?

  • Updated

Overview

You may be experiencing issues with Chase accounts syncing to Baselane, which could be due to Chase’s restrictions on connecting multiple login credentials through Plaid, our secure third-party partner that syncs and imports external bank connections. Users may encounter missing transactions, partial updates, or disconnections when attempting to link multiple Chase accounts.

This article covers:

Background on the Issue

Baselane connects to your Chase accounts using Plaid, a secure third-party service. Due to how Chase and Plaid work together, only one Chase login (one username and password) can be active and connected at a time.

If you have multiple Chase logins — for example, one for your checking and another for a Chase business credit card — attempting to connect both will automatically disconnect the login that was connected first. This is a restriction set by Chase and applies across platforms that use Plaid, not just Baselane.

Example:
Let’s say you have:

  • Login A with Checking 1 and Savings 1

  • Login B with your Chase business credit card

If you first connect Login A, those accounts will sync to Baselane. Later, if you try to connect Login B to add your credit card, the original checking and savings accounts from Login A will be removed and replaced.
Only one set of Chase login credentials can remain connected at a time. Plaid has confirmed that these issues are widespread. Baselane is in active contact with Plaid and will continue to monitor and share updates as they become available. At this time, there is no confirmed timeline for resolution.

Recommended Workarounds

Option 1: Upload Transactions via CSV File
We can guide you through the process of manually uploading your Chase transactions using a CSV file to keep your books up to date.

Option 2: Use Collaborator Access for Separate Chase Logins
If you have multiple Chase logins. Use Baselane’s Collaborator Access to invite yourself (using a separate email) to create another Baselane account.

  • Connect one set of Chase accounts under each Baselane account.

  • This will allow you to toggle between both workspaces and access all Chase-linked accounts — without needing to upload transactions each time manually.

Note: Collaborator Access is currently in free beta. This feature will become a paid add-on at $5.00 per collaborator per month in the future.

Baselane will continue monitoring updates from Plaid and Chase, and we’ll communicate any major changes or resolutions. In the meantime, if you need help with CSV uploads or setting up collaborator access, please contact support@baselane.com
