How to set up future and multi-leases for the same property

  • Updated

Baselane's rent collection feature allows landlords to set up multiple rent collections for a single property. What does this mean for you as a landlord?

  • You can now easily onboard future tenants while keeping the current tenant's rent collection active.

  •  Ideal for managing leases where tenants pay individual portions of the total rent without creating separate units for each tenant.

Note: This feature allows for multiple rent collections per property, not multiple tenants on the same lease.

How to set up multiple leases for a single property

1. Add a Property

Navigate to the Properties tab and add your property.

Note:
If you're collecting rent for individual units (duplex, triplex) or bedrooms and need to distinguish between them for better tracking, we recommend adding separate units in Baselane rather than using the same property for multiple tenants. This will help keep rent collections organized for each unit or bedroom.

How to add additional units to an existing property

  1. Add your property to our properties tab.

  2. Select property type or select other if not listed.

  3. Enter the property nickname and street address (it will auto-populate)

  4. Select multiple units and add as needed per property.
