You can delete a property from your Baselane account at any time, as long as there are no active or draft rent collections associated with it.
In this article, we will cover:
Before you delete a property
If the property has an active or draft rent collection, you will need to end it before deleting the property.
How to delete a draft rent collection:
Click on the Rent Collection tab.
-
If you have a draft rent collection, a banner will display: You have X draft rent collections.
Select Finish set up.
Select the property with Resume Draft listed.
Select Continue.
Select Delete draft (trash can icon).
How to end and archive an acitve rent collection
Click on the Rent Collection tab.
Select the active rent collection associated with the property.
Scroll to the bottom of the Rent Collection Details drawer and select End & Archive.
Note: Once a rent collection is Ended & Archived, it cannot be reinstated. Only end a rent collection if the tenant is no longer paying rent through Baselane. If removed, you will have to create a new rent collection for the existing tenant.
Once the draft rent collection is deleted or you have ended/archived the active rent collection, follow the steps below.
How to delete a property
Go to the Properties tab in your Baselane dashboard.
Select the property you would like to remove and click Edit.
Scroll to the bottom of the page.
Click Delete Property.
Confirm the deletion.
Note: If Delete Property is grayed out, this means there is either an active rent collection that needs to be ended/archived, or you have a draft rent collection. Please revert to the steps above before proceeding.
FAQ
Why can’t I delete my property?
You cannot delete a property if there is an active or draft rent collection associated with it. You must end and archive the rent collection first.
Will deleting a property remove my transaction history?
Deleting a property removes it from your active list, but any historical transactions tied to your account will remain for your records; the property will no longer be assigned to the transactions.
