How do I split a transaction?

From the Transactions tab, click on the transaction you would like to split to open its details.

Next, click on the ‘Split’ button (located next to ‘Edit’) in the transaction details.

You can split the transaction and assign categories and tags to each split amount

Note:

  • If the transaction is a purchase or withdrawal, you will need to enter a negative amount when splitting. Use the minus (-) sign in front of the amount to correctly reduce it.

Can I edit or merge a transaction that has been split?

Yes, you can edit or merge a split transaction. To do so:

  1. Go to the Transactions tab
  2. Click into one of the portions of the split transaction to open the details
  3. Click the ‘View Split’ button

  4. From here, you can:
    • Edit the split (adjust amounts as positive or negative)
    • Or select ‘Merge Transaction’ to merge the transaction back into the original transaction

Important:
If you choose to merge a split transaction back into the original transaction, any categorization or attachments added after the split will be removed.
